Open the map to see every permitted sale across McAllen, or browse them as a list and narrow it to today or this weekend. Tap any listing for details and Get Directions.

A listing shows that the city issued a permit for those dates. Sellers set their own hours and sometimes close early or skip a day, so check the listing before you go: sellers can mark days open or closed, and neighbors can report whether a sale is still going. Exact hours appear only on Featured Listings that set them.

Multi-stop route (free):

Browse the map and save the sales you're interested in (you'll need to be signed up and logged in). Then open your Saved Listings and tap "Get Directions." Google Maps opens with all your saved sales as one multi-stop route.

A route for each group (Garage Saler Plus):

Unlock Garage Saler Plus free by inviting a friend to get Grouped Listings: organize your saved sales into groups (like "Saturday Morning" or "Furniture Hunt") and get a separate route for each one. Use the move up and move down buttons to set the order of stops. Google Maps plans the driving; you can also drag stops around inside Google Maps once it opens.

Grouped Listings is a Garage Saler Plus feature that lets you organize your saved sales into custom groups (like "Saturday Morning Route" or "Furniture Sales").

To create a group:

1. Unlock Garage Saler Plus free by inviting a friend
2. Save a few listings
3. Go to Manage Saved Listings
4. Use "Move to New Group" on a listing and name the group
5. Use the Move Up and Move Down buttons to set the order of stops, or to move a listing from one group to another
6. Tap the group's "Get Directions" button for a route through that group in Google Maps

You can create as many groups as you like.

Signed-in users can report whether a sale is still open or has closed, right on the listing page. The latest report shows at the top of the listing with the time it was made, so neighbors know before they drive over. If the seller posts their own status, theirs is shown first. It's free with any account.

Garage sales are treasure troves: furniture, clothing, electronics, toys, collectibles, home decor, tools and much more. Many sellers add tags, a short description and a cover photo so you can see what they have, and Featured Listings can add a longer description and photo updates.

Yes. After you confirm a sale is open, you can suggest tags for what you saw there. Suggestions show on the listing as "Spotted by shoppers," and the seller can keep or remove them.

Yes! With Garage Saler Plus, you can message sellers who have Featured Listings to ask about items, confirm availability, and more. Messages are text only.

Visit the listing and tap "Send Seller a Message." All your conversations are in My Messages. We don't send alerts for new messages, so check back for replies.

If the seller hasn't upgraded to a Featured Listing yet, your message is still delivered and waits for them; they can read it and reply once they upgrade.

Chats are text only and tied to one listing, so conversations stay organized by sale. We don't send notifications for new messages: shoppers check My Messages, and sellers check the "Messages from Shoppers" section of their listing in My Listings.

Garage Saler Plus members can see all their conversations in My Messages (also linked from My Account). You can also open a conversation from the chat button on any listing where you've messaged the seller.

Get your city permit. McAllenGarageSales.com automatically lists every garage sale permitted by the City of McAllen, so once the city issues your permit, your sale typically appears within hours. Apply on the city's online permit portal, and see our permit guide for the rules. Then claim your listing to customize it for free.

If you have a valid permit but your sale isn't listed after a day, please contact us so we can fix it.

Yes. Any sale of used items at a home in McAllen needs a city permit: garage, porch, moving, estate and non-profit sales alike. The permit costs $20, and you can get up to three a year, each for up to three days in a row, at least 30 days apart. One sign is allowed, on the property where the sale is held. Our permit guide has the details and the city's source.

Your permit number is printed on your permit (for example, GAR2023-12345). You can also find it in:

• The confirmation email from the city
• The city's online permit portal, if you applied online

It's free: invite a friend and your listing is upgraded right away. It stays featured through 7 days after your sale ends. Tags describe what you're selling (like "furniture," "kids toys" or "antiques"). Pick as many as you like from our tag list on any claimed listing, for free. They show as badges on your listing so shoppers can see what you have at a glance, and your sale appears on the matching tag pages. Shoppers who visit can also suggest tags, shown as "Spotted by shoppers," which you can keep or remove. Check out our guide on items that sell for ideas.

A good cover photo shows shoppers what you have. To upload:

1. Go to My Listings and select your listing
2. Expand "Title, Description, Cover Photo, Tags"
3. Click "Choose Photo"
4. Select an image from your device (JPG, PNG, GIF or WebP, up to 10 MB)
5. Wait for the upload confirmation

Photo tips:

• Take a wide shot with many items visible
• Use natural daylight
• Tidy items before photographing
• Shoot in landscape, at least 1080 pixels wide

Rich-text description:

1. Go to My Listings and edit your Featured Listing
2. Use the toolbar for bold, italics, underline, lists and links
3. Organize your description by type of item; there's no length limit

Live Updates:

1. Open the "Live Updates" section on your listing
2. Post photos or text before and during your sale
3. Examples: "Just added an antique china set!" or "Half off all clothing after 1 PM!"
4. Updates appear newest first on your listing for shoppers to see

No problem! When you claim your listing (free), use "Set Your Days" to mark which permit days you're open or closed, so shoppers know when to come.

On sale day, go to My Listings and use the Update Your Status buttons on your listing. Your status shows at the top of your listing and takes priority over reports from shoppers.

Yes. With a Featured Listing, Garage Saler Plus shoppers can send you text messages about your sale, and you can read and reply right in the chat.

Find them in the "Messages from Shoppers" section of your listing in My Listings; the "View Message Hub" button shows every conversation for that sale. We don't send alerts for new messages, so check back.

No Featured Listing yet? Shoppers' messages still arrive and wait for you. Upgrade your listing free by inviting a friend to read and reply.

Check your spam or junk folder first. If it's not there, click "Resend email confirmation" on the login page.

Make sure you entered your email address correctly when you signed up. If you still have trouble, please contact us.

Click "Forgot your password?" on the login page and follow the instructions we email you.

Log in and go to Account Management. There you can update your display name, first name, last name, phone number and email address.

Your display name is shown publicly on any listings you own. Your first name, last name and phone number stay private.

You have full control over your personal data.

To download your data:

1. Go to Account Management
2. Click "Personal Data"
3. Click "Download" to get a file with all your account information

To delete your account permanently:

1. Go to Account Management
2. Click "Personal Data"
3. Click "Delete Account" and confirm

Important: Account deletion is permanent and can't be undone. Your saved listings, claimed listings and personal data are removed.
